Booking: By email, phone, or fax. The preferred booking method is by email. Please email your request. Upon confirmation, we will hold bookings for one week pending receipt of your deposit. Deposit is equal to 25% of the cost of your stay. It is refundable up to 30 days before arrival (less a $20 per reservation administrative fee). Within 30 days, the deposit is non-refundable. Full payment is due 7 days before arrival and is non-refundable. Payment by wire transfer or credit card (Visa, Master, American Express). |
Key deposit: A $10 cash deposit is due upon receiving your room keys. It will be refunded when keys are returned upon departure. |
Arrivals: CHECK IN BY APPOINTMENT. We will have someone meet you at a convenient midtown Manhattan location (example: station or hotel) and bring you to Sylvan Terrace by subway. If you have a change of arrival time, you must call and let us know. There is no charge for this service. |
Directions: By Subway: Take the C train to the 163 rd St. Station. Walk one block down St. Nicholas Ave. to Sylvan Terrace, which is across from 161 st St. Walk just past the C-Town Supermarket and find the stairs to Sylvan Terrace. Walk up the stairs to the Terrace and down the street to Number 15. By Taxi: Tell the driver 161 st St. and St. Nicholas Avenue. Get off on the right side in front of the C-Town Supermarket. Next to the supermarket are stairs leading up to Sylvan Terrace. Walk up the stairs and down the street to number 15. FROM JFK: You can catch the A Train at the Howard Beach Subway Station at JFK. From your terminal, take the Airtrain to Howard Beach ($5, pay when exiting the Airtrain system to go into the subway station), and $2 subway fare on the A Train. You take the A Train all the way to 145 th St. in Harlem and switch to the local C train. Take the C Train 2 stops to 163 rd St. and follow above directions. Total time on subway is about 65 minutes. |
Transfer availability: We will have someone meet you at baggage claim with a sign with your name and bring you direct.. Cost: $90 per car (up to three people). |
Dinner & walking tours: Are not included in prices and all costs (transportation when used, admissions when applicable, meals) must be paid separately. |
